Changing Times

A lot of people resist transition and therefore never allow themselves to enjoy who they are. Embrace the change, no matter what it is; once you do, you can learn about the new world you’re in and take advantage of it.

Times are changing and many of us are finding ways to take advantage of countless opportunities to get things done. You know, things like tackling that back room where all the extra “stuff” gets stored or finally launching that blog you’ve been talking so passionately about. I don’t know about anyone else, but I have numerous things that I have been wanting and/or needing to do but hadn’t had the time…and voila. Although the current health crisis has a way of evoking feelings of worry, concern, fear, and inconsistency, we are not powerless or helpless.

Personally I feel the Universe is gifting me with the freedom to get my house in order, spend quality time with my children, be creative and appreciative. I have the time now, at home, without getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of being Superwoman. I can home school my children, fix their lunch everyday, talk with them more and play with them. I’m loving that part. My oldest son and my oldest daughter will both be graduating next year, no telling where they may be after that, my youngest daughter is at an age where we she can benefit from more mommy time, and I wanted to keep the youngest home with me instead of sending him to Pre-K anyway.

As you can, I’m still busy as ever but with things that I love and enjoy.

I planted:, pepper, and kale plants; cucumber, micro greens, summer squash, spinach, and onion seeds tomatoes (bucket and bags), and garlic. The raised bed was made last week..

Nine days ago, I was blessed to find 4 orphaned kittens under my shed. Only one of them had their eyes open so I assumed they were approximately 9-10 days old. It was touch and go for a while as they hadn’t eaten in days but I am happy and proud to say all are doing well and eating well. Can you say milk wasted?

Pictures were taken one week apart. They are fed on demand. about every 2-3 hours, with bottles.

Last summer, I had the desire to make a quilt. I did not own a sewing machine nor did I know how to operate one (I can sew by hand). I learned to sew using a sewing machine that was gifted to me, I even made a few designer masks for family and friends to where when we venture out into Caronaville. I did pretty good, if I do say so myself.

I also began obedience training with a future service dog.

Oh yeah, and this…

How are you spending your days and nights? Need suggestions?…

  • Create something innovative, necessary, beautiful.
  • Do something as a family or with each child individually.
  • Read. something.
  • Take a spiritual bath, complete with Epsom or dead sea salt, your favorite essential oil (lavender is good for anxiety, depression, insomnia,, stress management, restlessness and has anti-inflammatory properties) and add, If you really want to treat yourself you can add lavender flowers to your water.
  • De-stress, calm and center your mind: Meditate at moonrise and/or moonset. Don’t forget to have your stone nearby, or hold it.. How do they feel? How do you feel?
  • Self-evaluate: What are your current circumstances saying? What needs to change in order to have peace of mind, joy, comfort, good health
  • Nix a bad habit.
  • Ground yourself. Breathe. Find enlightenment. Gain awareness. Redefine for yourself what’s important in the moment.
  • Bring into balance your third chakra (solar plexus) to regulate fear, by spending time under the sun (sunrise, sunset, gardening), and by focusing less on what you can’t control and more on what you can influence. * Now is the best time for killing weeds, thinning, pruning, mowing, cutting and planting below ground crops (read about gardening by the moon)

One thing we can control is how we choose to arm ourselves and maneuver through this phase. Strengthen and maintain immunity, utilize common sense, practice prevention and good hygiene (respiratory, personal and environmental), listen to your gut, be considerate, responsible and have faith. We are in this together and we must work together to prevail together.
